Hemimorphite, a common zinc ore mineral, is associated with zinc and lead ores in the same geological environments. The two minerals are frequently found together in specimens, especially from locations like the Palabanda quarries in the Republic of the Congo and the Laochang Mine in China, where vivid blue veszelyite crystals are seen sitting atop or intergrown with a base of blue hemimorphite.
