Dating back to the initial discovery in the 1970s of Purple Umbalite Garnet in the Umba River Valley of Tanzania. This gem is a bit of a relic. A Type locality gemstone. It is actually a hybrid Garnet of Pyrope and Spessartine Garnet.
Beautiful rich purple color saturation with electric pink purple flashes of color mixed in create an alluring appearance. There are some inclusions as seen in the photos but overall the gem has excellent transparency and is a good example of the first Purple Garnets ever found.
Metaphysically speaking Umbalite Garnet opens up the heart to love and emotional healing. It activates the root, heart and third eye chakras. It is gentle yet potent.
