Montblanc Ballpoint Pen with Modified Replacement Refill
This item was out of ink, but a modified refill has been installed as a substitute.
As I didn't have a genuine Montblanc refill on hand, I used a Cross type refill, cut about 4mm off the end, and wrapped some cellophane tape around part of it to adjust the thickness to act as a spring receiver, and then installed it in the pen body.
The inner diameter of the Montblanc nose cone tip is too narrow for Parker type refills, and slightly too wide for Cross type refills, leaving a small gap at the tip when installed. Therefore, there is a slight wobble when writing, but I have not made any modifications to fill that gap.
This "slight play" can sometimes give a softer feel and character to the writing experience for some users and purposes. This is only a temporary substitute, so please consider this before purchasing.
