The HPE P26256-B21 is a dual-port 10 Gb Ethernet adapter purpose-built for HPE Gen10 Plus servers that accept an OCP 3.0 mezzanine card. It connects through a PCIe Gen3 x8 interface, so data moves between the server and the network with minimal latency and plenty of headroom for demanding workloads.

Each of its two SFP+ ports can be linked to optical or direct-attach copper cables, letting you tailor the network fabric to the layout of your rack, row, or data hall. When both ports are active, the adapter provides up to 20 Gb of aggregate bandwidth, supporting everything from daily VM traffic to bursty storage replication.

The Broadcom BCM57412 controller at the heart of the card brings key data center features into play. Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) lets you assign virtual functions directly to guest operating systems, which reduces overhead on the host and improves performance in virtualization clusters or container platforms. RoCE v1 and v2 enable low-latency RDMA messaging, making the card a practical choice for hyper-converged infrastructure, scale-out databases, or NVMe-over-Fabric environments. VXLAN support helps administrators build overlay networks that are easy to segment and move as requirements shift.

At roughly 11.6 watts of typical power draw, the adapter fits well in high-density chassis where every watt matters. The low footprint in both energy and slot space means you can populate additional adapters, accelerators, or storage without stretching power budgets or airflow constraints.

If you are consolidating virtual machines, deploying software-defined storage, or refreshing a cluster with faster East-West bandwidth, this adapter offers a balanced mix of throughput, efficiency, and modern networking features while staying within the HPE warranty ecosystem.

Highlights:
  • 10 Gb Ethernet performance that matches modern server I/O needs
  • Two SFP+ ports for flexible fiber or copper connectivity
  • PCIe Gen3 x8 host interface for quick data transfer
  • OCP 3.0 form factor designed for HPE Gen10 Plus servers
  • Support for SR-IOV, RoCE v1 and v2, and VXLAN offloads
  • Virtualization and network partitioning features built in
  • Typical power draw of only 11.6 watts for energy-efficient operation
  • Covered by a 1-year limited HPE warranty
