A turtleneck sweater from HERILL using Black Sheep wool.
Black Sheep, officially known as "Black Welsh Mountain Sheep," is the only breed of sheep native to Britain. They live in harsh mountainous environments, and their wool contains a lot of lanolin. Therefore, it has excellent heat retention and water resistance. It has a wool-like, rough texture, yet is highly flexible, and the natural air pockets provide insulation. This breed is often used with minimal degreasing or dyeing, and this piece features a rustic brown color that is the natural color of the Black Sheep wool.
The design is a saddle shoulder turtleneck sweater. It has sleeves that curve outward and a neck rib that can be folded over. The body and sleeves are generously wide, and the ribbing creates a gathered effect, which is a design characteristic of HERILL. It has a similar volume to the standard Golden Cashmere series, but it differentiates itself with its material, color, and price.
