This Fresnel lens was introduced in February of 2002 and was retired in December 2002. It stands about 8" tall by 4" across. This lens weighs 2 pounds 12 ounces. It is 1947/5000 made. Harbor Lights limited edition replica of the 3rd order Fresnel lens from Big Bay Point Lighthouse in Michigan.
The third order lens uses an assembly of prisms supported by a brass fame to reflect and refract (or bend) the light coming from a single lamp, and concentrates the light into parallel horizontal beams.
This Fresnel light has been tested and works beautifully. Please see pictures of it lit up.
This would be a great gift for the lighthouse lover or a unique collectors find!
