Vintage Kimono Haori from Japan. Haori is an overcoat for Kimono.
Made by Ginza Matsuya (A prestigious Japanese department store built in 1925 - the original one started in 1869).
Size: Adult Ladies Size
Length 30”
Shoulder to shoulder 24”
Material: It is heavy like silk but I did not perform burn test to see if it is made of silk.
My mother-in-law (92 years old) inherited it from her mother and kept it in Kiri kimono closet. Therefore, the condition is excellent. I did not find any stain or smell associated with old fabrics. She came from a family who owned a traditional ryokan (hotel) in Kanda. She explained to me that Most item was shipped to a safe place outside of Tokyo during WW2 when Tokyo was bombed badly, so she has collections of old Kimono. The date on stamp says October 14th. Not sure when Kimono was made.
We already have many kimonos so I would like to sell this Kimono.
