First edition, first printing hardcover copy of Dead Beat by Jim Butcher (Roc, 2005). Rare true first edition of this early novel in the paranormal fantasy / science fiction / mystery / detective series, The Dresden Files. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with mild rubbing/scuffing to faces and slight shelf wear around the edges. Boards straight and clean but with corners slightly bumped. Binding is faintly split at copyright page though spine is straight and binding remains firm on the whole. All pages are clean and unmarked save for embossed personal library stamp to title page.
