Handmade clay teapot from Yi-xing County in China. A beautiful terra cotta color which is made with precision. Also known as a purple clay teapot as the clay starts out purple but turns during the firing process. Do not wash with soap, the teapot should absorb the flavors of the loose tea leaves to enhance flavor over time.
This one has a retracting dragon head on the teapot lid. A carved koi fish on one side and a dragon on the other. Makers mark on bottom. Some items have tape sticky on them. The tray has some white marks.
