This book explores the reproduction of colonialism at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and examines international criminal law (ICL) vs the black body through an immersive format of art, music, poetry, and architecture. It argues that the ICC perpetuates Eurocentric hegemony and colonialism, and that the African is but a unit utilized by the global elite to exploit and extract resources. It calls for an African court that utilises non-colonising African norms to address local conflicts.

This book delves into the reproduction of colonialism at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and explores the interplay between international criminal law (ICL) and the concept of the "black body" through an immersive format encompassing art, music, poetry, and architecture. Employing a post-colonial/critical race theory lens, it critically examines the operationalization of the Rome Statute to unveil a Eurocentric hegemony at the heart of ICL. The book uncovers how colonialism and slavery have shaped ICL, perpetuating the colonial and raising alarming concerns for Africa in both the present and the future. As currently envisioned and implemented at the ICC, this law is built upon deceptive and colonial notions of "what is wrong in/with the world." The book reveals that the contemporary ICL regime is founded on white supremacy, corrupting the laws' interaction with Africa. The African is merely a unit exploited by the global elite for resource extraction and exploitation. Occasionally, these alliances dissolve, leading ICL to become a preferred tool of retaliation. At stake is power, not justice, with Eurocentrism holding a hierarchical position throughout modern history. Colonialism is perceived not to have ended but to have resurfaced through the establishment of the "independent African state." The ICC perpetuates colonialism by employing European law and the overrepresentation of black accused individuals. In conclusion, this book offers a liberated African forum to address content-related conflicts, advocating for the termination of the ICC's involvement in Africa. It calls for the establishment of an African court that utilizes non-colonizing African norms, tailored to address local conflicts uniquely.

This book will appeal to scholars, students, and activists engaged in the study of international law, colonialism, and race relations, offering a comprehensive and thought-provoking exploration of these critical issues.
