The APC AP8653 is a rack power distribution unit that gives you per-outlet control and metering, so you can keep vital equipment running without leaving your desk. Designed for 230-volt, 32-amp circuits, it installs vertically in the rack’s side channel, which means you keep every U space free for servers, switches, or storage.

Because each of the twenty-one C13 and three C19 outlets can be switched independently, you can reboot a locked-up server, cycle a misbehaving switch, or power down unused gear after hours. Power-up and shutdown delays help you stage equipment in the right order, reducing the chance of tripped breakers when everything comes back online after maintenance or a power event.

Built-in metering shows real-time current draw at the outlet and branch level. If a circuit starts edging toward its limit, the PDU can alert you through email, SNMP traps, or the APC management interface, giving you time to move loads or add capacity before an overload takes systems offline.

The three-meter cord with an IEC 60309 32-amp plug reaches common data center receptacles, and locking outlet collars help keep critical plugs secure in high-traffic racks. Remote access over secure web, SNMP, or Telnet lets you integrate the PDU into existing monitoring tools, including APC’s own InfraStruxure platform.
