ANTIQUE Vienna-style Hand-Painted Snuff Box - Porcelain with Enamel Cover 1800s

This is an exquisite antique Vienna style snuff box. It has a beautiful enamel lid. The outside cover scene is a finely detailed pair of classical maidens in a garden, with an angel in the background and wild fowl at their feet. The inside cover scene is of three garden maidens partying around a garden statue. The base is handpainted porcelain. The bottom is decorated in a gold gilded scene of a stag and deer foraging. The remainder of the outside is alternating garden scenes of water fowl and gold and burgundy decor. The interior of the porcelain box is gilded. The box is set in metal, and both the hinges and clasp work well. This box was estimated to have been made in the late 1800s (as assessed by Sotheby's in 1997). The box is oval shaped, measures 3 and 1/2 inches long (8 cm), 2 and 3/4 inches wide (6.5 cm) and stands 1 and 1/4 (3 cm) tall. This is in wonderful, gently used condition, with no damages that I can find. This piece has been in my family's collection for decades.
