Stephen Shore (1947-) is a collection of photographs taken during his travels across the United States in the early 1970s. In 1972, Shore left New York, armed with only a driver's license and a Rollei 35 (compact camera), and embarked on a road trip in a rental car. He explored his homeland from the perspective of a tourist, relentlessly snapping photos and returning to New York with hundreds of rolls of film. In line with the project's intention, Shore, like a tourist, sent his film to a Kodak lab in New Jersey for development and printing. The result was hundreds of meticulously composed color photographs, creating a road trip photography masterpiece that followed in the footsteps of Walker Evans and Robert Frank. This book became Shore's representative work and has influenced photographers such as Martin Parr and Bernd & Hilla Becher.
The book itself has no warping, sun damage, or creases.
