In 1977, Lotus revolutionized the F1 world with ground-effect cars, dominating the 1978 season. While other teams were busy copying Lotus, Brabham designer Gordon Murray showcased his genius with the BT46B, a machine popularly known as the "fan car."
This groundbreaking BT46B, which used a large fan at the rear of the body to suck air from under the car, creating negative pressure and generating downforce, debuted at the Swedish Grand Prix (Round 8) and made a stunning debut with N. Lauda taking the victory.
However, after the race, other teams protested that it was dangerous, and the BT46B was ultimately banned for safety reasons. Although the victory at the Swedish Grand Prix was recognized, the BT46B was excluded from the championship, leaving a record of one win in one race, making it a phantom machine, so to speak.
Due to these circumstances, it has been a popular machine since then (pun intended!), and I believe it is a very valuable model.
The item has been carefully stored at home, but being old, there are some scratches on the case and some yellowing of the base due to aging. The car body itself appears to be in good condition.
